The Camino by Shirley MacLaine
I met Shirley MacLaine when I was a journalist for the Jerusalem Post in Tel Aviv back in 1989 or so. We have a lovely photo together and I still have the note she wrote me after she had to cancel an interview. So some 18 years later I've finally begun reading her books. I loved Out of a Limb, but I love The Camino even more.
In this book Shirley - in her 60's - decided to walk the 500 mile Compostello de Santiago in Spain. I read Paulo Coelho's account of his walk in The Pilgrimage (I LOVE this book too)so I knew a bit about it. But Shirley's experiences are really just amazing. What intrigued me the most were her "channelings" from John the Scot. Her description of, basically, the beginning of time, is fascinating and rings so true to me. From Lemuria to Atlantis, Twin Souls and a magnificent description of twin soul separation - just incredible material.
I also love her tenacity, strength and truth. She is an amazing woman and I found this book to be enjoyable on so many levels. Metaphysical, adventure, love, friendship - it's all there.

channeling Abraham, is ALWAYS next to my bed. Possibly the most self-empowering book I've ever read. This new book (above) offers more stories and processes - but this will stand forever as a classic. This book becomes more and more profound as time goes on...
